3 January 2022 Update
Keeping yourself and others safe
The government has announced that England has moved to Plan B in response to the risks of the Omicron variant.
This means:
- Face coverings are required by law in most indoor settings including our Clinic.
- Office workers who can work from home should do so.
- Certain venues and events will be required by law to check that all visitors aged 18 years or over are fully vaccinated, have proof of a negative test in the last 48 hours, or have an exemption.
- We suggest not to visit our clinic if you are at high risk, elderly or classed as vulnerable.
There are still cases of COVID-19 in England and there is a risk you could catch or pass on the virus, even once you are fully vaccinated. This means it is important that you understand and consider the risks of catching or spreading COVID-19 in all situations. While no situation is risk free, there are easy and effective actions you can take to protect yourself and others around you. If you are worried about going back to a more ‘normal’ life, there is information from the NHS on how to cope with anxiety about lockdown lifting.

Please read important information regarding who should not attend and procedures in place below. We recommend self-isolating/ shielding for 2 weeks prior to surgical procedures to minimise risk where possible.
18 October 2020 update
The Govt. has now removed COVID test for pre surgery patients from the website. Consequently all prospective surgery patients now require a private COVID test [ Unless you meet criteria on the NHS COVID test website ]. We will arrange this at the time of pre-surgery consultation and these have to be done the week prior and then you self isolate for a week. This is so that both you and us are secure in the knowledge that you are COVID free. Please note that our lab will only do COVID testing for pre-surgery patients so if you are our patient but require a COVID test for any other reason such as travel- we are very sorry that we will not be able to arrange it.
Please see our blog [click here] for some general advice. Too much is being relied upon availabilty of a vaccine. Please note that coronaviruses are a family of virus for common cold and we do not have a vaccine for common colds. Even flu vaccine offers short term immunity. We are always looking for short cuts but there are none here, sorry! Please do know that masks are very effective in prevention and almost act like a vaccine by reducing amount of virus one may be exposed to. Best way to boost your immunity and your chances of best results wih our treatments is to be in good general health and keep a healthy weight. Optimum nutrition, adequate hydration, plenty of sleep and moderate exercise are best. Do take Vitamin D and C supplementation, eat plenty of fruits and veggies and minimise sugar, meat, alcohol and dairy. We look forward to seeing you soon.
1st September 2020 update for Surgery patients. We are now in phase 4 of our reopening plan and request following actions for scheduled surgery patients.
We ask for COVID-19 test on Friday the week before or Monday on the week of surgery. You can book it via NHS website [ click link here-] or call 119. We also recommend to self isolate the week before once we confirm a date so as to minimise covid risk before and after surgery.
Please contact the test site 2 weeks before surgery in case they send you a home test kit. This will allow time for test results before your surgery day. Finally if they do not offer you test you must let us know so we can arrange it privately. We are unable to perform surgery without a negative COVID test on file.
It is a fast moving situation and we are doing our best but realise there may be practical difficulties so please do ask if we can help in anyway.

We will update this page as the situation evolves. We thank all our staff and patients during this time. We sincerely apologize to our patients some of whom have booked months in advance and some who travel from 100s of miles away. This situation however is unprecedented. We will be back soon. Stay safe.
Some general advice during this time to keep your immunity up.
(Please follow government advice. It is science driven. I trust our CMO and team.) This is general advice from my training in antiageing medicine and not endorsed by mainstream general medical community so make of it what you will! It is not specific medical advice.
We are a bundle of nerves and our neuroendocrine system, gut health and immune system work in unison.
Stay positive and do things. you don't want to end up in a situation where this is over and you go" I had so many things to do and I did not do them!"
Foster family relationships. Positive relationships are important. Ring, FaceTime or whatsapp family and friends. We are fortunate to have the means to be connected whilst social distancing at the same time.
Exercise - even walking on the spot in front of telly is good. Gradually increase it. You don't want to suddenly increase the intensity, frequency or amount of exercise lest it reduces your immunity. For endorphin junkies out there do some HIT workouts. You don't want to be outside in a pelaton!
Minimise alcohol
Drink plenty of fluids and stay hydrated.
Sleep well. Lack of sleep weakens immunity.
Diet-minimise meat and dairy. Plant based diet is better and you need antioxidants and polyphenols. Ofcourse don't put on too much weight as obesity is a major health hazard.
Steam and gargles to keep your airways clean. Do it safely- burns have been reported.
Do deep breathing. How many times have you put your lungs through full range of inhalation and exhalations? Try it, you will feel rejuvenated. Pranayam is yogic breathing exercise. I have not checked YouTube but I am sure there will be videos about it. Go gentle on it though!
Supplements- these help. Some useful ones are multivitamins including C and D. N acetyl cysteine glutathione and pre and probiotics etc.
Did you know we have more bacteria in our gut then the cells in our bodies? Friendly gut bacteria help our digestive system, brain and immune systems.
Please don't take supplements if you are on prescription medicines as these may interact. Citrus fruits including limes lemons and oranges are a good source. Colloidal silver also has activity against microorganisms.
I am sure I have left off something but hope this helps a little.
Disclaimer: this is a general advice and not specific medical advice. Consider it at your own risk. If you have medical problems and or on prescription drugs please do not try anything new unless you have consulted your GP who are perhaps not best disturbed at the present time.
